Sales tax in Texas

Exempt from Texas sales tax:

Gold, silver, or platinum bullion

Taxable:

Paper money that is not considered currency (for example, collectible paper money that is sold as a collectible rather than as circulating currency) is generally taxable as tangible personal property.

Currency exchanges:

A simple exchange of one currency for another based on an exchange rate is generally not taxable if the transaction documents identify the exchange rate.
