Mason Coins was first established in 1966 as J & R Coins of Utica, Michigan. My father John was the backbone of our business until his passing. Although we have changed our name to Mason Coins, we still continue our family commitment of providing numismatics with the exact same quality and expertise we are known for throughout the past 44 years. Recent incorporation of the business has allowed Mason Coins to expand and achieve our goal of creating an interesting and attractive website aimed at drawing in more interest to the numismatic world.

        Mason Coins employees are all members of the Michigan State Numismatic Society (MSNS). Richard is a MSNS life member as well as a member of the Lansing Coin Club and American Numismatic Association (ANA).

            We continue to update our inventory through acquisition of new coins on a regular basis. If you have coins that you would like to sell, please feel free to drop us an email. We will respond with a fair, honest, and competitive rate. It is always the best option to appraise coins in person and  we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. The easiest way to receive an appraisal is to come visit us at one of the many coin shows we attend throughout the year. 

            We participate in many coin shows throughout Michigan, including the Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Lansing areas. You can also visit us at the Jackson show in Jackson, MI that we sponsor 11 months of the year. We also participate in the Michigan State Numismatic Society’s spring and fall convention at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan.
