As the state numismatic organization, the Georgia Numismatic Association publishes the award winning GNA Journal, runs an annual coin show, conducts numismatic seminars, sponsors YN activities, funds scholarships and promotes numismatics in the state and region. ScholarshipsThe Georgia Numismatic Association is accepting applications for three scholarships (one Young Numismatist (YN) 13-22 years old, one GNA Member and one GNA Board Member) for the American Numismatic Association Summer Seminar. All scholarships are awarded based on merit and what the applicant has given back to numismatics. The Summer Seminar is held on the Colorado College campus in Colorado Springs. A wide and varied selection of classes is offered for the curious beginner to the advanced collector. In addition to the daily classes, there are informative numismatic presentations and discussions. An applicant must be a GNA member prior to submitting the application and must be a member of the ANA before completing the summer seminar registration. The required official forms can be submitted by U.S. mail to the GNA post office box, or hand delivered to one of the scholarship committee members or by e-mail addressed toscholarship@gamoney.org. It is the responsibility of the applicant to assure all official applications and referral forms reach the scholarship committee by the December 31st deadline. Each scholarship covers minimum ANA “On-Campus Fees” (which includes shared room, board and tuition for 1 five day or 2 two day classes) for a one week session. The Scholarship covers minimum travel cost between the winner’s closest airport and Colorado Springs. The winner will arrange their travel reservations. The recipients of the scholarships as well as applicants will be contacted no later than January 31st of the following year. |
