Thomas J. Uram (Tom) is a lifetime resident of Western Pennsylvania.  He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business and Finance.  Tom is a 30 year veteran of the financial services industry.  As a financial representative, he concentrates on charitable giving, life insurance, long term care and IRA's for his clients.

Tom's numismatic interest started in 1971 when his Uncle Mitch introduced him to Gordon Doddrell of the Pittsburgh Coin Company.  Tom joined the George Washington Numismatic Association at the same time and in several years was the first junior member to be elected to the board of directors as club secretary.  In 1974, Tom joined the American Numismatic Association as a life member.

Tom has frequently exhibited at coin shows, and his first exhibit as a junior was at the American Numismatic Association in 1976 in New York.  As a junior, he worked with Florence Schook in junior projects as well as serving as a Page at numerous national shows.  Tom also participated in The David R. Cerven Roman Coin Project that the American Numismatic Association sponsored.

Tom has participated in and encouraged many National Coin Week projects.  He has been President of the George Washington Numismatic Association since 1998, and in 2010, Tom designed and promoted a medal commemorating the Bicentennial of the City of Washington Pennsylvania.  Tom is a frequent speaker at local coin clubs to talk about the Historic Two Cent Piece, how to exhibit coins at shows, and other numismatic topics.

In addition to the American Numismatic Association and George Washington Numismatic Association, Tom is a member of Western Pennsylvania Numismatic Society, Central States Numismatic Association, Florida United Numismatists, The Sphinx Society, the North Hills Coin Club, and the South Hills Coin Club.  Tom is a life member of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatics and its current President.  In 2011, Tom was certified as an ANA Exhibit Judge, and he has enjoyed the opportunity to judge at several national conventions since then.

Tom has served as the District Governor for Rotary District 7330, and he's currently on the Board of Directors for the Washington Community Foundation and the Washington Hospital Foundation.  Tom also serves on the Finance Committee for the Immaculate Conception Church, and he is the former Board President of the Catholic Charities Diocese of Pittsburgh.  Tom and his wife, Lynn, reside in Eighty Four, PA.
